UPDATE September 3rd, 2006. Whimsy with a Purpose. Red Mountain Land Preservers has an adorable cow in the Santa Clara Swiss Days line up. Standing on the northwest corner of Santa Clara Drive and Heights Drive across the street from the City Hall, she sports a striking image of the sacred Red Mountain with the refrain "Their Land, Their Water, Their Voice." Her other flank says "Nuwuvi"--the ancestral name of the Southern Paiutes meaning "the People". A QR code invites passersby to learn more about the Red Mountain Land Preservers and their efforts to save their ancestral land and precious water. See our Blog post for a picture of her other flank!

- The Urban Nations Powwow hosted by the Urban Indian Center of Salt Lake Saturday, September 12, noon to 6:00 PM, at Smith's Ballpark Stadium, 77 W 1300 South, Salt Lake City. Admission is free for this celebration of Indigenous culture, dance, and community.
- Ivins City Heritage Day Parade on September 12th.
- Santa Clara Swiss Days from September 25-27th.
AUGUST 5TH, 2026 UPDATE: See information in JUST THE FACTS about a new ordinance which violates the Tribal Constitutional Rights of the Shivwits people and appears to be an attempt to intimidate, strong-arm, and silence the majority of Shivwits people who oppose Reef's destructive development.
