The Red Mountain Land Preservers (RMLP) is a group of Shivwits Band of Southern Paiutes and community members working together to prevent harmful development, preserve our sacred lands, conserve vital water, and defend our tribal democracy and voting rights.
RMLP is working alongside our neighbors, the wider community, and supportive organizations, to prevent Reef Capital Partners, a non-Indian private equity firm, from building four golf courses, a luxury resort, and an airport on our sacred land atop the burial remains of our ancestors. We're committed to preserving our health, communal life, culture, and deep connection to our indigenous landscape.
Mountain Land Preservers is dedicated to protecting the sacred land and water resources of the Shivwits Band of the Southern Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah and conserving our water resources and natural environment.
We seek to sustain our tribal democracy and defend our voting and civil rights which have been imperiled by legislation, laws, and actions promoted by Reef and its partners. We've been disenfranchised from our federal right to vote on the development, and our legal rights are being threatened.
Watch this powerful video to see why we oppose destructive development on our Sacred Land.
